Community Education and Advocacy

Peggy’s work in community education has ranged from delivering a specific class or forum, to working long-term with a group to develop understanding of an issue.  She works with public officials and agencies to develop policy, and helps organize groups to assure that good policies stay in place.

When she "delivers,” Peggy enjoys audiences of many cultural backgrounds, ages and social and economic situations.  Her presentation sites range from senior centers and schoolrooms to large conference halls, from a farmer’s market soapbox to a boardroom.

For long-term efforts, Peggy uses a variety of strategies to ensure stakeholder involvement in drafting outcomes and determining activities.  She and the stakeholders consider the broad social landscape and what people need to know, and be able to do, to effect change.
